Company
Susteq was founded in 2013 in the Netherlands, by Anton Lepelaar and Tom van Zutphen. Since then, we have been working with partners from several African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Rwanda.
Susteq believes that everyone has a right to have access to reliable and safe water. We provide the technology to make this possible.

Expertise: electronics and embedded software development
“While travelling in Africa I saw a great deal of water projects that had not been maintained properly. As a result, users were forced to buy costly water from third parties, or had to use contaminated surface water. I felt this situation should be amended, and started developing a monitoring system for water points. This project formed the basis of Susteq, which stands for enabling the supply of safe water at a fair price.”
Tom van Zutphen
Expertise: electronics engineering and ICT
“Susteq incorporates two of my passions. It allows me to contribute to an improved water supply in Africa and to fully employ my knowledge about and experience of electronics. My main drive is the challenge to find the right solution for problems surrounding water supply and also, to continue to improve this solution.”
